ARISE,SHINE FOR YOUR LIGHT HAS COME

TextEsaie60.1-3 «Arise, shine, for your light has come,and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. 2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples,but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. 3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. »The above verses talk about Jerusalem as a Holy city that should enlighten the other cities. It's a text that gives hope. There is something we must do in order to experience a personal and collective restoration. The verb used is an action verb particular the verb "to arise"

To arise doesn't specifically mean that someone is lying down and should arise, no. It could mean to arise in order to get rid of a sinful life. There are some christians who are still sleeping and that's the reason why the Bible recommends them to arise. We need to arise so that the light of God which is upon us could shine. Whoever has this light must arise to put it into practice. It's a restoration that can only occur by an act which is to arise. In this text of Esaiah 60, we mostly see the restoration of Jerusalem. When the Bible makes reference to Jerusalem, it also entails us who are the children of God. God wants us to be that person who can be enlightened to enlighten others. Restoration is already there but it's left on us to enter into possession. God calls upon us to enlighten our surrounding for Him but first of all, we must arise.

If the Bible tells you to arise, arise. It didn't say sleep nor sit down but arise.

I have come today to tell someone to arise and grab their legacy.

Maybe God is calling you to arise so that you might take into seriousness the ministry of praises, evangelism, the economy of a nation. The Bible says arise and shine. • Christian arise and shine. • Dina arise and shine; • Jonathan arise and shine; For your light has come. The sine qua non condition is to arise. © If you do not arise, you will never shine. © If you do not forsake: the love for you bed, living room, the love for worldly things, the love for your comfort. Brethren, you will never shine if you do not arise. Perhaps you arose but there is nothing like a change in your life, today I encourage you to reconsider your engagement with the Lord. The Bible says arise and shine.

For so long you have stayed stagnant thinking about how to make it but you finally ended up being a dreamer. If I could have this and that, if I can do this and that and finally you find yourself in the state of <>

Brethren, if you do not arise, you will eternally be in that state of «This and that»

  • If I can have this type of car
  • If I can have this type of motorcycle;
  • If I can preach like him;

for your light has come

The sine qua non sine qua non condition is to arise.

  • If you do not arise, you will never shine.
  • If you do not arise, you will never shine.
  • If you do not forsake:
  • the love for your bed
  • living room
  • the love for worldly things,
  • the love for your comfort.

Brethren, you will never shine if you do not arise. Perhaps you arose but there is nothing like a change in your life, today I encourage you to reconsider your engagement with the Lord.

The Bible says arise and shine....

For so long you have stayed stagnant thinking about how to make it but you finally ended up being a dreamer.

If I could have this and that, if I can do this and that and finally you find yourself in the state of « this, that, this, that.….. »

Brethren, if you do not arise, you will eternally be in that state of «This and that » meanwhile others are arising to shine in order to grab their legacy.

All that you can possess requires your first step.

You spend your time saying:

  • If I can have this type of car;
  • If I can have this type of motorcycle;
  •  If I can preach like him;
  • If I can pray like him;
  • If I can pray like him;
  • If I can evangelise like him;
  • If I can be a first class like him
  • Etc.

While you dream of your« if, if, if, if... »Your friends are advancing.

Because they have understood that instead of sleeping, it's better to arise and to take action.

If you do not leave your zone of "if" you will not do anything in your life.

Example: The devil pushes you to spend some time in front the television watching things that will help you to live your life of your dreams of «if, if, if... »

I am sorry but the lovers of movies cannot be agents of revival.

unfortunately they do not arise to expose what God has put in them.

If you do not arise to give value to what the Lord has put inside you, no one would know that God has deposited something in you.

The Bible says arise and shine....

We speak a lot about men of revival, we appreciate what they have done during their own time but we do not arise to do as they did, let's see more than them.

  • We say sometimes that we need change, but no one arises to be an agent of change.
  • We need justice but no one arises to be an agent of justice or to be good man.
  • We need peace but no one arises to bring peace;
  • We need revival but no one arises to be an agent of revival etc.
  • Etc.

The Bible says arise...

How many times would we stay thinking about this meanwhile other nations are moving forward.

Brethren, our God is a God of action, He cannot ask us something He has not planned.

  • Before David could kill Goliath, he had to take action by arising in the same way, he first of all killed the bear and the lion.
  • Before Moses could set the children of Israel free of slavery, he first of all arose to take action.

Every change requires a price to pay and the person must arise to take action.

Let's look at the example

Jesus says in John 9:4 «As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.»

Jesus knew that he had a work to do from his Father that's why he said: «As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work »

here, there is an imperative term, an obligation, there is no alternative and so Jesus is compelled to do the work of his Father. Jesus wants us to know by this that, it is paramount for him to arise and do the work of his Father.

While you have:

  • Some opportunity
  • Some capacity
  • Some strength
  • Some power
  • Some strength
  • Some good time
  • Etc.

Use these opportunities to serve the Lord.

I have already preached inside student's bus, inside commercial bus, inside drinking places, behind some motorcycle drivers, on the internet, via phone...

If you do not arise to evangelise, no one would know that you have a gift of evangelisation.

Theologians say that the day represents the time of young people and the night represents the time of old people.

Make use of your young age to do the work of the Lord for your generation.

Brethren, at the age of 70 or 90, you cannot serve the Lord well.

I say at the age of 70 or 90, you cannot serve the Lord well!

I say at the age of 70 or 90, you cannot serve the Lord well!

Generally speaking, some people say that in order to serve God, we must reach the age of 70 or 90 before getting involved into the service of God but brethren, God is not a garage so that you might bring forth some damaged parts of your body to serve Him with.

God wants your young age into His service.

There are some opportunities that only come once in life, this is the youth. If we do not use this for the things of God, we will regret it. The great men have done what they could do in their own time. It is time for the young christians to arise to:

  • Bring the revival of God in His generation;
  • Leave the blueprints of Christ in his generation;
  • Proclaim the grace of God;
  • Preach the cross of Christ;
  • Preach the power of the Holy Spirit.

It is time, it is time, it is time, brethren it is time to arise.

Before souls could be saved, there was a need for Jesus to arise and preach the Good News, he did not remain stagnant dreaming to see the salvation of souls but on the contrary, he arose.

My brother, my sister, arise.

  • What is the burden that Lord has put in your heart
  • What is the conviction that you have received from the Lord;
  • What is the mission that the Lord has granted unto you;
  • What is the vision you have received from him;
  • What has the Lord told you to do and you did not do anything about it uptil now.

Brethren, God is ready to use you in one area or the other but he first, He wants you to step up.

The Bible says in James4.8 Come near to God and he will come near to you...

The Bible says " Arise and shine..."

  • A sleeping person cannot shine
  • A lazy person cannot shine;
  • A dreamer cannot shine
  • Only the ones taking actions can shine.
  • I say only the people who take actions can shine.

If you were zealous in the past and now it is no longer the case, this message is being established for you to arise.

When Paul was hit by blindness, He had to arise and enter the city of Damas in order to shine, and recover his sight.

There was a need for Bartimy to arise as to recovering his sight by the power of Jesus

Before Abraham was named the father of faith, there was a need for him to arise and leave his hometown, and he went further to offer his only son in sacrifice.

In the same way God provided a lamb instead of Abraham's son, God also gave His only begotten Son to die for us.

God is preparing Himself to give us his only begotten Son to save us from sin but first, He expects us to exhibit that act of faith just as Abraham did in trying to offer his own son Isaac.

The Bible says arise and shine....

 Ephesians 5:14

This is why it is said: "Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." »

There is:

  • Something in you
  • A portion of God's blessing in you;
  • Deposit in you
  • Something better in you
  • But the key of that particular thing is to arise and take possession of it.

The light appears yes but, you must first arise so that Christ can make you shine. You have been sleeping for so long.

But God has put something in you and he waits on you to make it work. But you keep sleeping with that deposit.

The Bible says "arise and shine...you that is sleeping or slumbering" We must first wake up before we can arise.

it is impossible to arise without waking up

  • It is impossible to arise and do the work of God while we always keep sleeping spiritually.
  • * It is impossible to get up and be more efficient in our studies if we do not arise to read our lessons.
  • It is impossible to enter into possession of something without taking action.

Brethren, as long as you do not wake up and arise, Christ will never make you shine; let us leave our comfort zone and take action.

Some of those who experimented greater changes in the Bible did not remain stagnant but, they arose.

Look at  Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." »

Apostle Peter has already declared the words of deliverance to that paralysis and the rest depended on his action which was to arise, so he did it and therefore received his deliverance.
